Wedding Photographer Surrey

I love photographing people! It gives me such a buzz to see somebody transformed into someone they never knew existed when they glance at the back of my camera. It’s just amazing to be able to do what I love for a living, and so many of my clients mention this after working with me… photography really is my dream job!

For me, capturing your wedding is all about capturing you. I want your family and friends to be able to say, “That’s so them,” when they look through your wedding album, that’s the most important element to me! I spend time with my clients so I can get to know what makes them tick, the very best photos are made possible well before the wedding day and I aways make sure we have plenty of time to bounce ideas and vision around.

I’m based in Cheam, Surrey and work all over the South East of England, but love to travel further afield and regularly shoot on the continent and beyond. If you would like to have a look at some of my work in person and chat about your wedding then please do get in touch!

My MethodI totally love shooting weddings, one of the few occasions when people are actually expecting to have their photos taken and are looking their very best. It’s a day that’s been in the calendar for a long time and, for the vast majority of couples, there will never be another chapter in history that consumes more creativity, energy and organisation.

There are of course formalities when it comes to weddings, but it’s also a huge chance to make the day your own and do things differently. The same applies to the way I like to work, no two weddings are ever the same because no two couples are ever the same! My job is to get inside your heads and see what’s in there, I want to capture you just as much as your day!

Once you have had a chance to view my work online and have had any initial questions answered, it’s a good idea to meet up and discuss your wedding in person. There will be no obligation to make a booking and you can see some of my amazing GraphiStudio albums with your very own eyes, designed by me and hand-made/printed in Italy! If you decide to go ahead and have me shoot your wedding (a very good choice indeed), we’ll arrange to visit the venue(s) together (Church, Registry Office, Reception Venue). This way I can start to help you visualise how your day will unfold and build a fresh approach to capturing it for you!

Your Big DayBy the time your wedding day arrives, I am confident that we shall be more than prepared for it! We have permission to use that old staircase we discussed and the hotel management are happy for me to climb out onto their flat roof for that huge group photo! We know what we’re doing because we’ve communicated well and have visited the venues together. That doesn’t mean that we need a list of fifty “must have” photos with us, I prefer to be inspired by what’s happening rather than force something that’s not. There are a few moments when I will step in with ideas and suggestions (group and couple photos), but my job is to keep out of the way and record the magic!

Typically I’ll be with you a good few hours before the ceremony, I want to be in and amongst the excitement as the bridal party prepares and spends time with the bride. I particularly enjoy these moments and it’s important to ensure that we have plenty of time to get creative! I shall then cover your ceremony and reception in a documentary fashion, and help to co-ordinate any group photos when they take place. We will also allow some time during the wedding for the three of us to sneak off for some photos of just you guys! Don’t worry if this seems a little daunting and you feel as though you won’t know what to do or where to look, I’ll have plenty of suggestions to get things going and you’ll be loving it in no time at all!

My day usually draws to a close shortly after the cutting of the cake and the first dance, that is… if you’re cutting a cake and having a first dance! If people are partying then I shall make sure I get in on the action too and I often like to perform what I call a “grab & snap” with the couple. We get right in the middle of the dance floor and see how many guests we can photograph with the bride & groom within two minutes or so… that way we get loads of great photos with the evening guests!
